Absolute Ultrasound

Ultrasound scanning involves the use of sound waves to produce images of inside the body.

An ultrasound examination is painless and non invasive, and because it is in real-time, it can be used to view movement as well as anatomical structures.

A gel is between the skin and the ultrasound probe helps to make contact as the probe is moved over the area being examined.

The scan findings are analysed by the sonographer performing the scan and the reporting radiologist before a report is sent to the requesting doctor.

Maternity Ultrasounds

Our Sonographers are able to perform a range of maternity scans. This includes early pregnancy, nuchal, anatomy and growth scans.

Mothers are able to bring a support person to these scans.

If you are wanting a copy of the images of your maternity scan, please let us know when booking.

We utilise PACSBridge service to enable you access to the images taken during your scan. This is an easy access platform whereby you are able to access the images via your smart phone or by accessing an email address.

If you have requested PACSBridge images you will receive a email address with a link that is specific to you, a further sign-on will be prompted when link is accessed, once your sign-on is complete you will be able to view the images of your scan - easy!

This is an additional cost of $10 to your scan, and images are with you within the same day of your scan!

If in retrospect, you would like to request PACSBridge images of your scan we can still arrange this for you (within a year of your scan).

Preparation for Maternity Ultrasound

Maternity ultrasound scans require the Mum to have a full bladder. This means that you may be asked to drink a quantity of water prior to your scan to allow your bladder to fill.

Please feel free to call us to discuss any questions or concerns you may have with our team. We are here to assist you in every way.
