Sue Smith-Howard
Sue is the Managing Director of Operations at Absolute Radiology.
Sue has extensive experience in Radiology management since first taking on management roles in 2002. She has a special focus on staff education and development, with a passion for making sure the patient has a friendly and professional service when visiting a health facility.
Born and bred in South Taranaki, Sue has a special focus on ensuring those patients who need to travel for imaging are accommodated within our facility – with an effort to be flexible and save further trips to NP.
Sue qualified with a NDMDI in 1994 and has worked in many radiology roles including clinical tutoring, CT, sole charge and after-hours management and call.

Dr Abysinia Sibanda
Medical Director
MBChB, MRCP, FRCR, FRANZCR
Abysinia is the Medical Director at Absolute Radiology and a radiologist at the Taranaki Base Hospital.
He obtained his medical qualification from the University of Zimbabwe in 1997 and then moved to the UK to pursue post graduate qualifications in Medicine and then Radiology in Manchester.
He then completed Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at St Mary’s, Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals in London, and has previously worked as a General and Vascular Interventional Radiologist in Manchester, UK.
His specialty interests include vascular, body and musculoskeletal interventional radiology, as well as diagnostic imaging.
Dr Adelaine Wong
Radiologist
BSc P.T., M.D., FRCPC, FRANZCR
Adelaine is a musculoskeletal radiologist who is based out of the Gold Coast, Australia. In 2013 and 2014 she worked at Taranaki Base Hospital. She received her degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta (Canada), before obtaining her medical degree at the University of Calgary. She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Saskatchewan. She subsequently completed a clinical and a research fellowship in Musculoskeletal radiology at the University of California San Diego. She has worked and taught around the world in musculoskeletal radiology, including in Australia, Winnipeg, (Canada), Taranaki (New Zealand), and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). She also works at Gold Coast University, Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah Hospitals as well as Ballina Wave Radiology
